It definitely re-defined the way movies are made. However, I’ve not actually watched The Hurt Locker because the war genre isn’t very appealing to me. I can’t make a substantial argument without having seen both films though.

The entry was more about celebrating the first female winner for ‘Best Director’, especially because it’s a hugely male-dominated industry. I realize I should have elaborated more on that.
